难点 To tell the difference between “be going to do sth” and “be doing sth”/

2. What’s Pat doing? She’s writing a poem/ singing a song/ making a card/ drawing a picture.
Step 3: A game.
Students are divided into four big groups. A student from each group will be asked to act out the word he choose, and the students in his group will have to answer the question: what’s he/she doing?
This is a game to revise the present continuous tense.
Step 4: Presentation & practice.
1. T: It’s Mid-Autumn Festival soon. I am going to visit my sister. What are you going to do?(Write the sentence pattern on the blackboard and ask the student to repeat after.) Then ask the students to talk about their plans about Mid-Autumn Festival in groups of four.
2. Talk about their plans for National Day and Christmas Day in groups of four.
3. Show Transparency. Play the Pupil’s Book Cassette. Read the rubric and make sure the pupils understand what a gift shop is. Read Kim and Mark’s conversation and ask the pupils to repeat it after.
4. Point to next picture. Ask the pupils to look in the thought bubbles and role-play the conversation in pairs.
