Unit2 Our holidays(A-1)
Teaching Objectives:
1, Students learn some new words and sentences
2, Students can interact with others by using simple expressions and structures learned
3, Tell students what holidays mean and the extended meanings
Analysis of the Teaching Material:
Key points: When's Father's Day? It's on June 15 this year.
What are you going to do? I'm going to....
Difficult points:
1, To master these phrases: National Day, Children's Day, Teacher's Day, Christmas Day, draw a picture, write a poem, make a card, Tian'anmen Square
2, To understand the story and act it out
Teaching methods:
free talk, questions and answers, presentation, activity participation, role play, pair work, group work, pre-reading, etc. according to contents and requirements of students.

Unit 2 Our holidays (A-1)
Warm up:
1, Greetings
2, Sing a song
3, Free talk
Presentation:
1, T: How was your summer holiday? Tell them what is holiday.
2, T: What other holidays do you know?
Lead them to answer it in English, tell them the English version when they feel hard to answer.
3, (Show pictures)Ask students: What holiday is it?
Then lead out Childrean's Day, Teacher's Day, National Day and Christams Day.
4, Teach the holiday names one by one by splitting the phrases, listening to CD, reading, repeating, having dialogues with the phrases.
5, T: What do you do on Children's Day/ Christmas Day/ National Day etc?
S: I do.....
T: Do you write a poem/ sing a song / make a card etc?
S: Yes, I..... /No, I don't .....
Lead them to say out those phrases.
Then teach them which they feel hard to understand.
6, Read the phrases after me as a summary.
7, Let them practise to read the phrases on the board.
8, Find students to read.
Practise:
1, Play CD and let them listen.
2, Read after it.
3, Group work: Which holiday do you like best? Why?
Homework:
1, Copy the phrases you feel hard to memorize
2, Listen and read Part A-1 for 3 times
3, Talk about your favourite holiday with your friend, and tell us the reason next class

Postscript:
There are eight phrases in this part, so it really adds the difficulties for students. We need one more class to familiarize the words well.
Unit 2 Our holidays (A-2)
Warm up:
1, Greetings
2, Review the phrases by showing cards
3, Free talk
What holiday do you like best? Why?
Presentation:
1, T: What are you doing? What is he doing? He is playing, etc.
2, Tell students that Tim and Koko are together. Let them guess what they are doing.
3, Group work to talk about the dialogue.
4, Play CD and let them figure out what Tim is doing and what Koko is doing.
5, Answer the questions.
6, Teach some phrases, like, look at, have a look, etc.
7, Another question before listening: What's Pat doing?
8, Listen to CD and then answer the question.
9, Let students open their books to find the answer if they can't answer it.
10, Play CD and let them read after it.
Practise:
1, (Books open)Read after me..
2, Role play.
Homework:
1, Listen and read Part A-2 for 3 times
2, Copy the dialogue

Postscript:
Ss are beginning to use the phrases in this part easily and they're quite interested in talking with each other about today's topic.

Presentation:
1, Hold something in my hand, and let them guess what it is.
2. It is a poem. And find a student to read the simple poem from me.
3, Let them say out that the poem is for National Day.
4, T: It's National Day soon. When is National Day?
5, Students answer the question, and guide them to use the ordinal numbers while answering the date.
6, Show students the PP to let them do the exercises which are about holidays and dates.
7, Lead them to read and practise it by having a dialogue with their partners.
8, Introduce Jenny and lead them to Part B1.
9, Listen to CD carefully and answer my question:
When's Father's Day?
10, Students talk and answer the question.
11, Read after CD.
Practise:
1, (Books open) Read after me.
2, Role Play
3, Students come in front and act.
4, Comments on their acting.
Homework:
1, Listen and read part B1 for three times
2, Write Par B1 on your homework
Postscript:
1, Ss have difficulties in unserstanding the ordinal numbers.

Unit 2 Our Holidays (B2)
Warm up:
1, Greetings
2, Review the phrases we have learned:
Children's Day Teacher's Day National Day Christmas Day
draw a picture make a card sing a song write a poem
3, Free talk:
How are you? It's a lovely day today. What is the date today? What holiday is it on October 1?
Presentation:
1,T: It's National Day soon. Do you like National Day? When is it? What are you going to do?
2. Ss talk with their partners.
3, Call certain group to show their dialogue.
4, Find some more students to talk about their plans for Natinal Day.
5, I will give them some suggestions of holiday plan, and make a list for them.
6, Tell students that Kim and Mark are talking about their plan for National Holiday. Let them guess what they are going to do.
7, Play CD and figure out their plans.
8, Teach a phrase: Tian'anmen Square.
9, Listen to CD again and read after it..
Practise:
1, (Books open) Read after me.
2, Role Play
3, Students come in front and act.
4, Comments on their acting.
5, T:What are you going to do on other holidays?
6, Do Part3: Listen and circle the correct picture.
Homework:
1, Listen and read part B2 for three times
2, Write Par B2 on your homework
3, Daily repart: Which holiday do you like most? What are you going to do on that holiday?
Postscript:
The combination of pictures and sentences give students lots of good elements to express them out.
Unit 2 Our holidays(HW)
Warm up:
1, Greetings
2, Listen to partG and sing after CD
2,Review the phrases in unit 2
3, Free talk and review the sentences we have learned in this unit
Presentation:
1, Look and write
T: What are they doing? (Point to the phrases and let students answer together)
Ss answer.
T: When?
So look at the pictures given and figure it out when.
Invite the students to answer the questions and fill the blanks after that.
2, Listen, and match.
Let them watch the pictures and sentences for one minute, then let them say out the date.
Then listen and match between pictures and sentences.
3, Listen and circle.
T: What holiday is it? Listen and circle the correct one.
Then listen and circle the correct one together.
T: What is the date today? Listen and circle.
T: What are they doing? Listen and answer, then circle.
4, Listen and circle the words with the same sound and the same letters.
Tell them how to distinguish the words given and found out the words with same sound.
5, Look at the pictures and write the words.
Call students to look at the pictures carefully and fill the blanks according to the pictures given.
6, Read and write. Complete the email.
Tell them to look through the email first, then fill the blanks with the appropriate tenses.
7,Read and write. Complete the return e-mail.
The same instruction with the last one.
Homework:
Listen to unit3 carefully and read it fluently.
Postscript:
Ss have a good understanding of this unit, while there are some mistakes on writing the phrases in this unit.
