Vocabulary I in Unit Five说课稿
教学目的:Help students to read the new words correctly and use them properly.
教学要求:Students are required to be able to read the new words correctly and use them properly.
教具:PPT , Blackboard & tape recorder
第五单元第一课时主要用来处理Vocabulary I 中的生词。通过历次考试可以看出,学生们在单词的拼写、认读、意义辨析等方面都存在问题,因此,本课侧重单词的认读和使用。
首先,听录音跟读,听、读两到三遍。(实际上,在学习外语单词时,仅读两到三遍是绝对不够的, 不足以熟记单词的读音和意义。)然后鼓励部分学生领读,在领读的过程中纠正学生的读音错误,帮助其他同学避免类似的错误。
在跟读单词之后,给出符合读音规则的拼读方式及字母组合,帮助那些语音上没有基础的学生一点一滴地积累语音知识,从而培养一种根据拼写形式就能准确读出单词的能力。这部分利用黑板的板书,要求学生记笔记。
接下来利用例句来理解部分单词的用法。利用PPT能够尽可能多的呈现生词的基本用法。给出某些词在使用中的固定搭配,在课堂上口头造一些结构简单的句子,使学生在应用中找语感,注意到英语句子中的词序。
最后强调记忆单词的重要性,严格要求学生熟记拼读规则,强化单词的记忆,并布置作业。

教学过程:
I. Listen to the new words and read ( each twice).

II. Ask about one-fifth students to read the new words to see if they can read them correctly.

III. Learn to use the new words, noting that the phrases in boldface.
1. crazy adj. 狂热的;疯狂的;荒唐的 板书:-azy lazy crazy
That noise is driving me crazy. –a辅e:
Where have you got such a crazy idea?
Many college students, especially girls, are crazy about that pop singer.
be crazy about sth./ doing sth.热衷于
I wonder why so many students are crazy about playing video games.
I used to be crazy about the hunting season.
我曾非常迷恋打猎季节。
It’d be crazy to go out in this rain.
be crazy to do sth. 干某事一定是疯了

2. thrill n. 兴奋;激动;震颤;紧张 板书:-ill bill, hill, mill,kill
It gave me a real thrill to see her again after so many years.
give sb a thrill to do sth: 做某事让某人兴奋/ 激动
A thrill of fear ran through her at the sound of thunder.
thrill vt. 使…兴奋,使…胆战心惊
We were thrilled by the heated discussion about the trip to Europe.
The traveler thrilled us with his stories.
vi. thrill with joy/excitement 兴奋不已

3.crash n.坠毁,碰撞,装车,相撞 板书:-ash ash, crash, flash, mash
There was a crash of two cars at the corner.
Only four passengers escaped injury in the crash of the plane.
vi. 坠毁,碰撞
The two cars crashed into each other at an intersection.
两辆轿车在交叉口相撞了。
4. bush n.灌木 板书:-ush bush, push
The child was hiding in the bushes.
beat about the bush: 拐弯抹角地讲话,绕圈子

5. filter v.滤过,透过;使…变清晰 n. 过滤器
All drinking water must be filtered.
饮用水均需过滤净化。
filter through:慢慢传开,渐为人知
More details about the crash are filtering through.
空难的进一步详情慢慢传开了。
filter in through…:透过…渗/进入
Sunlight filtered in through the curtain.
阳光从窗帘透了进来。
filter into…through…透过…渗/进入…
The bright moonlight filtered through the branches into our room.
filter …out :把…过滤掉
The test is used to filter out candidates who may be unsuitable.
这个测验是用来淘汰不合格的求职者。

6. silence n.寂静无声--silent adj.

7. trail 1). n.痕迹,足迹 板书:-ail bail, gail, sail, mail
The dogs found the trail of the rabbit.

The hunter trailed the elephant for hours.

8. shock v.
使…大吃一惊;使…惊骇;使…愤慨
The scene shocked her. 那景象使她感到震惊.
I was shocked to hear the news of his sudden death.
我听到他突然去世的消息感到很震惊。
shock: n. 打击;冲击;休克
The news was a great shock to me.
die of shock: 因休克而死

9. curious --curiosity
I am curious to know what he said.
be curious to do sth.很想做某事
Don’t be curious about things you should not know.
be curious about sth. 对…感到好奇
Curiosity kills the cat. 好奇惹来杀身祸。

10. prime n. 全盛期 adj. 首要的,主要的
be in one’s prime: 正值青春年华
be past one’s prime: 青春年华已过
eg. He was a good football player <in his prime>.
in the prime of life 正值盛年
in the prime of the year 在春天
Smoking is the prime cause of lung disease.
Development is of prime importance.
发展是硬道理。
11. scratch vt & vi 抓,擦,划
Mary scratched her head thoughtfully and wondered what she could do next.
Be careful not to scratch yourself on the rose.
CDs are better than records because it doesn’t matter if they get scratched.
在公共场合不停地搔鼻子是坏习惯。
It’s a bad habit to keep scratching your nose in public.
12. wrapping
