1. Please look at the pictures and sentences. Sum up by themselves(自己总结):
What is The Present Progressive Tense? And how to change the verbs.
Ss can look at the Grammar on Page 99 or the grammar books.
2. Individual student answers. Then read the grammar together.
3 Let’s look at the pictures on Page25.There are some people in Happy Apartment. What are they doing now?
1a. Please match the words with the activities.
Ss give the answers, and then read after one student. (You’re great!)
4. Listening task 1b: Please look at the names in 1b.Do you want to know what they are doing now? OK, let’s listen and write numbers from1a. Check the answer.
Listen again, and read in parts, boys are Bob, and girls are Jenny.
5. Now, let’s do a pair work:1c.
Ask & answer questions about what people are doing in the picture, or you can do an activity and your partners ask and answer: What’s he doing? —He’s swimming.
The teacher and Ss ask & answer: What are you doing?—I’m studying in the room. What is he doing? –He is studying in the room. Pay attention to the verb be.
6. Here is a guessing game for you: What are they doing? Do you know ? We don’t know, but we can guess.
2c: Look at the pictures. Guess what the people are doing(猜猜他们在干什么).
7. Give the example:Is Nancy doing her homework?
-No, she isn’t. She’s writing a letter.
8. Work out in pairs, different pairs ask and answer.
