教材分析 本课程所使用的教材是上海外语教育出版社的新世纪中职英语。
本教材适合于开展“任务型教学”,注重快乐教学和人文教育。
本堂课采用了任务教学法的理念,将教学任务设计到课堂活动中,在活动中着重培养学生的合作能力与语言交流能力,以期完成既定的教学教育目标。
学情分析 本堂课的教学对象为职校三年制一年级学生。学生是刚入校不久的学生,英语基础不太扎实,尤其是英语口头表达和交流的能力比较差,还有相当部分的学生英语学习的兴趣不浓,这都是以“培养口语能力为目标”的职校英语所要克服的困难。

执教课题 Unit 6 Making Requests
本节课特色与创新之处 (1) 教学理念:强调“以学生为中心”、快乐教学的理念。
(2) 教学方法:重点使用任务教学法。本节课开头设计了一个活动,激发学生的课堂参与度。
(3) 教学内容: 在听、说、读等活动和必要的语言操练中,完成知识的传授和技能的巩固。
(4) 教学手段:利用多媒体设备激发学生课堂参与。

Teaching Objectives
1. By the end of this lesson, students will be better able to make requests to others and make correct responses.
2. By the end of this lesson, students will have a better performance in class interaction and cooperation.

Teaching Procedures:
I.                    Icebreaker: (10 mins)
Devise a new icebreaker that would achieve the following tasks:
1.       To create warm atmosphere in a short time.
2.       To have a further understanding between students.
3.       To be familiar with the content of new lesson and consolidate the expressions about first meeting that have learned before in Unit One.
Assign six tasks to six chosen students . Write tasks on six pieces of paper. Tell the students that they must move around the classroom, asking other students questions until they find someone who replies ‘yes’ to the question. When they find a ‘yes’ they must write that student’s name in the space after the question.
Task :
‘Would you please help me to find someone in your class who…’
A.… is the tallest in your class _________________________
B.… is best in English ________________________________
C.… has gone abroad _________________________________
D.… likes drawing ___________________________________
E.… has visited the capital city of our country _________________________
F.…likes cartoon ____________________________________
 Revision:
‘Nice/Pleased/Glad to meet you.’ (Making greetings to those found in activity)
II.                 Lead-in: (5 mins)
Above task is request making. When asking someone to do something, we should know how to make requests. When wanted by others, we should know how to respond to the requests. Lead in new lesson by taking above task as an example.
In above task , I say ‘Would you please help me to find someone in your class …’
I can also say in this way:

‘Could you please help me to …?’
 ‘Do you think you could help me to …?’
 ‘Do you mind helping me to …?’
 ‘I was wondering if you could help me to ….’
 ‘I would appreciate it if you could help me to ….’
 ‘I’d like you to help me to ….’

You can respond in this way:

‘OK.’      
   ‘Sure.’
   ‘Yes, of course.’
‘No problem.’
   ‘Certainly.’

If you can’t offer help, you can say in this way:

‘No, I’m afraid not.’
‘No, I’m afraid I can’t help you.’
 ‘I’d like to, but ….’

III.               Listening Practice: (10 mins)
1. Words preparation:
Ask students to read these new words and help them correct wrong pronunciation, and give a brief explanation of following words.
supermarket// cereal// capsicum// computer// yogurt
2. Task 1:
Listen to the conversation for the first time, fill in the following blanks to complete the passage according to what you have heard.
Christina is Li Yan’s _______________. This afternoon Christina is going to do some ____________ at the _____________. To save time, she wants to ___________ Li Yan’s bike. Li Yan gives her the ___________ to the bike and asks her to __________ some cereal, yogurt and capsicums for ___________.Christina agrees.
3. Task 2:
Listen to the conversation for the second time, then complete the following statements:

A   +   ask/want + B + to do …

1.       Christina wants to _____________________.
2.       The key to the bike is ___________________________.
3. Li Yan first asks Christina to buy ______________________ for Jenny.
4. Li Yan also wants Christina to buy ________________ for Jenny.
IV. Speaking Practice:(15 mins)
Role-play (pair work):
1.       Ask students to read new words and give brief explanation of the following words:
photocopy// training// cookie// schedule// session
2.       Ask students to find out expressions about making requests from speaking material as soon as possible.
3.       Role-play:
1). Ask every student to practise conversation with his/her deskmate in 3 minutes.
2).Ask 2-3 pairs to act out the conversation.
V. Summary: (4 mins)
 Ask students to recall what have learned about making requests and responses.

To make a request, we say
‘Could you please help me to …?’
 ‘Do you think you could help me to …?’
 ‘Do you mind helping me to …?’
 ‘I was wondering if you could help me to ….’
 ‘I would appreciate it if you could help me to ….’
 ‘I’d like you to help me to ….’
   To respond to a request, we say
‘OK.’      
   ‘Sure.’
   ‘Yes, of course.’
‘No problem.’
 ‘Certainly.’
‘No, I’m afraid not.’
‘No, I’m afraid I can’t help you.’
 ‘I’d like to, but ….’

VI. Assignment: (1 mins)
1.       Copy new words, each four times. Then recite them.
2.       Copy expressions on page 89, each for two times. Then recite them.
Recite the conversation on page 87.
