《Making Friends》说课稿
教材分析 “New Century Senior English” aims not only at helping the students improve their abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing but at developing their ability to study actively, independently and purposefully as well. Besides, the textbook also exploits the students’ potential in communicative English.
This unit of Making Friends focuses on the topic of making friends.
1.In respect of language learning, through summarizing the suggestions on making and keeping friends and the meanings of friendship, the students will be fond of mastering the vocabulary of this unit and developing their language ability.
2.As to the moral aspect, the students will make clear the suggestions on making friends and the significance of friendship after studying.
学情分析 Students in senior high school pay more attention to written exercises than to the improvement of their ability of using English, especially spoken English. Therefore, not all of the students in this class can express their thoughts in English naturally and fluently. What the teachers should do is to direct them in developing their interest in using English in order to improve this situation and ask the students’ different questions according to their different level of speaking ability, for example, difficult questions with a large vocabulary will be used to ask the students who are good at spoken English, etc.
执教课题 Making Friends
本节课特色与创新之处 To try to establish the concept of student-orientated class teaching, which means the students will study actively, independently and purposefully.
The purpose of this period is to grasp using the words and phrases and to improve their ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
In this period of teaching, on the basis of learning the new words and phrases and previewing the text, the students are expected to summarize the suggestions on making friends themselves by using words, phrases, sentences and paragraphs step by step.
The following teaching procedures are to practise the ability of using English by talking about types of friends we should make and the meanings of friendship which is not mentioned in the text, for language-learning can not be limited in text-learning but it should be closely related to the students’ daily life to arouse their interests. It will be carried out in the following three steps:
1.Listen to a poem to lead to the topic --- types of friends we should make.
2.Appreciate a short play performed by the students to deal with the task --- types of friends the students should make in their life.
3.Read a short story to consider why we should keep friendship?
During the whole period of teaching, several interesting FLASHes taken from the internet are used to arouse the interest of the students.
Only when the teacher improves the teaching methods by using multimedia computer and the lively material, etc. can the students arouse their interest in practising oral English. It not only attaches the importance of the conveying of knowledge and the development of communicative ability but also deepens the students’ consciousness in studying actively, independently and purposefully.
本节课与学生所学专业实际的结合程度 This period of class is closely related to the improvement of using English. The students can have a lot to talk about by guiding them to master the words and phrases in practice so as to memorize them easily.

On the basis of learning the new words and phrases and previewing the text, the students can practise a lot in the ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing actively, independently and purposefully in the activities of this period.
