Unit2 My Favorite Season
Part A Let’s talk
Good morning, everyone! It’s my honor to share my ideas with you. The title my lesson is “My favorite season”. It’s taken from Part A of Unit2, PEP Primary English Book6. My teaching idea includes 4 parts: learning materials, the analysis of students’ learning, learning aims and learning procedures.
Firstly, I’ll talk about the learning materials. It’s second lesson in Unit2. The content is about asking and answer one’s favorite season. The sentence patterns “Which season do you like best? .... ” are the keys of this unit and this lesson. Also, it is the extension for lesson1 and it makes the basis for studying how to express the reason of favorite season and seasonal activities.
Next is the analysis of students’ learning. The students have learned some adjectives about weather in Grade Four, it’s easy for them to express which one they like best. But they know less seasonal activities, so the difficulty is to say seasonal activities correctly by using the sentence “I can….”
According to above all, there are two aims in this lesson:
1. By looking at the pictures and listening, there are 90% students can listen, speak and read the sentences “Which season do you like best? …. ” And read the dialogue by imitating and read aloud clearly with the right pronunciation and intonation.
In order to know if the students grasp aim1, I’ll observe their mouth, ask someone to read and observe their reading in groups.
2. Through the pair work, there are 85% students can use the sentences “Which season do you like best? …. It’s always…. I can…. ” in real situation correctly and neatly.
For this aim, I’ll observe their preparation, cooperation and performance in pairs to check.
Moreover, I’ll still use this form to check their reading, role-play and making new dialogues.
The last part is learning procedures, there are five steps: warm-up, preview, presentation, practice, consolidation and extension.

(一)Warm- up
Hello, boys and girls. Nice to see you again. Look, there’s snowman. Do you like it? Listen to me. I divide you into two groups: the boys and the girls. If you do well, you can get close to him and get it at the end. (分组比赛)Clear? Come on!
Before the new class, let’s say a chant. Show me your hands, please. Ready? Go!
(二)Preview ( Let’s try )
Lily, what’s your favorite season? …. Do you know: What are their favorite seasons? Let’s listen and match! …. In this text, there is a new sentence, it means “What’s your favorite season?” can you find it? Yes, it’s the first one: Which season do you like best? How to answer? For example: Winter. I can play with snow.(板书句子)
(三)Presentation
1. (1) Read after me. 请学生看老师的口型,纠正with的发音。
(2) Read by yourselves for three times, if you have any questions, please ask me.
(3) Read together.
(4) The boys read together.
(5) The girls read together.
(6) This line, read it one by one.
2. We know Mike likes fall best. Which season does Zhang like best? Let’s watch a cartoon.(出示问题,边看边找答案。)
3. I have other questions, please open your books and listen to it, find these answers.(出示另外两道题,边看课本边听,找出答案。)
4. (1) Listen and follow it, for each sentence twice.
(2) Read by yourselves for three times, if you have any questions, please ask me.
(3) Read together.
(4) Who can read? Tim, please. The others read follow him. Linda, please. Read follow her.(多一些指名提问,将其成绩计入talk一栏。)
(5) 男女生互读。
(6) 同伴互读。(将其成绩计入play一栏。)
5. 句型检测——评价样题一,匹配目标一。
(四)Practice——匹配目标一
Let’s have a rest! Let’s play a guessing game. Look here!(出示要求与图片)I’ll give you an example, who can ask me? John. …. Look at me. Yes, it’s summer.(师生示范,请学生问老师,老师做动作让学生去猜季节。) Yes or no? Ok, this row please.
(五)Consolidation and extension——匹配目标二
You can use these words, phrases and sentences to make a new dialogue with your desk mates.(将其成绩计入do一栏。)
For today’s homework, there are 3. You can choose two of them to do. (下节课将每一项的成绩分别计入对应的栏中。)
Today we’ve learned: …. (看板书总结,并评出优胜组。)
