一、教材分析
Section A 的主要话题是transportation, 与我们的生活密切联系。通过听和看图来确定或描述人物的出行方式,教材以How do you get to school?为中心话题,运用一般现在时。Section A与学生的实际密切相关,易于引发学生用英语进行交际交流,完成听说读写的任务活动,重点掌握和熟练应用 How do you get to school? 及其答语等句型。
二、学情分析
对于初一学生来说,在经过半年的英语学习后,他们具备一定的英语基础,但是仍然比较薄弱,对语法的理解与掌握不灵活,对任务的完成有一定的难度。他们有较强的求知欲和表现欲,对讨论跟他们生活息息相关的“行”的话题很容易产生兴趣。
三、设计思路
采用Summarizing,Accumulating,Role-playing和Comparing的学习策略,利用教学图片、幻灯片或制作多媒体课件来展开课堂Pairwork问答式的口语交际活动和阅读、写作训练,要求学生掌握用“How”来询问怎样到达目的地。
四、教学目标
按照课程标准,本节的教学目标如下:
1. 知识目标:
Section A 的主要话题是transportation, 与我们的生活密切联系。教材以“How do you get to school”为中心活动,要求学生掌握有关交通的词汇,如take the subway/train, ride the bicycle, go by bus/boat/plane, go on foot, train station,kilometer, mile, river以及其它一些词汇。
2. 技能目标:
熟练掌握和运用一般现在时,掌握由How 引导的特殊疑问句及其答句。学会谈论交通工具;学会恰当安排行程,并合理选用交通工具。
3. 情感目标:
让学生感受到他们学习英语是为了在现实生活中进行交流,而不单纯是为了英语课和应付考试而学习,了解东西方国家出行方式的不同,以及不同的交通规则,教育学生注意交通安全, 加深对交通知识的了解。
五、教学重点和难点
1.重点词汇:take the train take the bus take the subway ride a bike by train by bus by subway by bike on foot get to school
2.重点句型:How do you get to school? -----I ride my bike.
How does she get to school?-----She usually takes the bus.

七、教学过程
Step 1 Lead in
1. Watch a video about “How do you get to school?”, try to sing it together.
2. Look at some pictures and speak out what are these in English. Think of other transportations you know.
设计意图:通过歌曲和图片导入课堂,吸引学生的兴趣,利用如何去学校的歌曲引出本课的内容。
Step 2 Presentation
1. Ask students how they get to school and then present some pictures to students. Every picture has two ways of expression “take the bus” “by bus” “take the boat” “by boat” and so on. Encourage them to answer: I take a bus to school. I get to school by bus.
2. Let students read two ways of expressions. The teacher makes a summary in both Chinese and English. 骑自行车:ride a bike by bike and so on..
设计意图:利用图片呈现乘坐交通工具的两种表示方法,吸引学生的注意力,并且清晰明了。
Step3 Pairwork
Students work with their deskmates, one asks and the other answers, like this “ How do you get to school? ----I take the subway to school. I get to school by subway.”
Give them two minutes to practice, then the teacher asks some pairs to speak in front of students.
设计意图:通过同位之间一问一答,来练习描述如何到达学校。
Step 4 Matching
Look at the picture and match the words with the pictures. Then let students speak out the letters.
设计意图:提高学生看图表达的能力,根据图片来描述乘坐交通工具的方式。
Step 5 Listening
1. Listen to the tape and write the numbers next to the correct students in the picture.
2. Listen again and fill in the blanks.
设计意图:听力练习,锻炼学生的听力水平,进一步熟悉运用本课的重点句型。板书重点句型,突出强调重点知识。
Step 6 Pairwork and competition
Ask and answer questions like this,one asks “How does Mary get to work?” The other answers “ She takes the subway”. Practice with your deskmate with six children.
Have a competition between boys and girls. Choose a girl to stand out, other girls ask her questions How do the children get to school? She answers. If she answers correctly, we give her a red flag. Then choose a boy to stand out and answer the questions. In the end, we see whether boy or girl answers the most questions correctly.
设计意图:同位练习来提高学生练习英语的积极性,并且在男女生之间展开竞赛,看看谁能回答对最多的问题。
Step7 Make a survey and write a composition
Make a survey about a family, including the boy or girl, his or her parents, how does each person go to school/ work?
Ask some students to read their handwriting.
设计意图:通过写作来提高学生表达的能力。
Step8 Summary
Ask students to say what they have learnt in this class. Then the teacher makes a summary.
设计意图:设计意图:学生自谈收获,教师最后进行系统的归纳总结,强调突出重点。及时总结巩固,学生记忆牢固。
Step 9 Exercises
Choose the right words to complete the sentences: how how long how many how much how often
1. How does he get to school? --- He walks to school.
2. How much are these things? --- Forty dollars.
3. How often do you shop? --- I shop once a month.
4. How many pencils do you have?--- I have three pencils.
5. How long is he staying? --- For two weeks.
设计意图:课堂小测验,检查学生本堂课知识的掌握情况,有不足之处仍要多加讲解。加深对所学知识的理解和应用,使所学知识得到进一步的升华
Step10 Homework
Group A: Listen to the cassettes.
Group B: Make conversations about how your parents get to work. Write them down.
设计意图:适当的作业,巩固本堂课所学知识。
