PEP Book 6 Unit 6 A Let’s learn说课稿
I .Contents: My topic is PEP Primary English, Book 6 Unit 6 A Let’s learn .This lesson includes two parts: Let’s learn and let’s play. In section 1, it mainly deals with the new words, And in section 2, it provides a real situation for the Ss to prastise the pattern: What is he doing? And the answer: He is doing something.According to the new standard of English,I’ll help the students to fulfill the following aims:
II. Teaching aims
1. Aims on the knowledge
(1) To enable the Ss to master: picking up leaves,catching butterflies,taking pictures,watching insects, doing an experiment .
(2) To help Ss to ask and answer “What is he doing?”
2. Aims on the abilities
(1) To enable the Ss to use the key words to ask and answer “What is he doing?”
(2) To train the Ss’ ability of working in groups.
3. Aims on the emotion
Ss are able to love the nature and the life.
III. Key-points of this lesson
(1) To help Ss to grasp the four skill words
(2) To develop Ss’ interest in English.
IV. Difficult points
To help the Ss to grasp the four skill words
V. Teaching methods
As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils’ basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I’ll mainly use “Task-based” and “scene-making”teaching method. And in this lesson a recorder, CAI, word card will be needed.
VI. Teaching procedures and purposes of my designing.
I’ll finish this lesson in five steps.
Step 1. Warm-up and preview ( 5’)
1. Have a chant together: Let’s go on a field trip
2. Review the verb phrases by asking: “What are you doing?”
Purpose: It is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss and at the same time it provides situations to review learned knowledge for the next step.
Step 2. Presentation and practice ( 18’)
1. Present the new verb phrases by card, pictures and body language.
2. Listen and repeat the new words.
3. Play a guessing game.
4. Let’s play:With the help of the CAI to practise the new words. Set a situation to help Ss understand:What is he doing?
Purpose: CAI can provide a real situation for the Ss to understand the new words, Proper competition can arouse the Ss’ interest in English learning.
Step 3.Consolidation and extension ( 13’)
1.Do a listening exercise on activity book,Ss listen and write.
2.Do a guessing game by watching some nice pictures,using the sentence: What is he doing?
3.Write down the new words according to the pictures.
Purpose: Ss can use the words in a real situation and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained.
Step 4.Sum-up ( 3’)
Ask the Ss to sum up what they have learned today.
Purpose: To check the knowledge Ss have learned.
Step 5. Homework ( 1’)
Let Ss listen and repeat the new words
Purpose: Revision is so important that Ss should speak English as much as they as in class or after class. It is necessary for the Ss to do some extensive exercises after class to consolidate the knowledge they learned.
Step 6 Bb design:

watching insects
