Ladies and gentlemen,
Good morning/afternoon. It’s my great honor to have this opportunity to be here. First let me introduce myself. My name is ……welcome to our school.
Today the title of my speech is the Spring Festival. There are 5 parts in my speech. They are Teaching material, Teaching method, Learning method, Teaching procedures and Teaching reflection.
ⅠTeaching material
一. Talking about the Lesson
The text The Spring Festival is from Unit 12 of English Book 1 for vocational students.It is published by Language & Culture Press.
   This passage is about our Chinese traditional festival---The Spring Festival. It contains a lot of information about the most manginfcent traditional festival, such as the traditional cultures and the great passion of people to it.
By the way, before the winter this year, there will be some foreigners to visit our school. The students whom I am teaching will help our school to show our traditional culture, one of subjects is the Spring Festival. To practice their spoken English and the ability of communication, I chose the lesson, and set the following parts.
二. Goals of Teaching
Knowledge goal
To consolidate the hot words and expressions.
Hot words:
spend holiday celebrate far away prepare celebration sweep luck past side early window happiness dress clothes delicious program midnight express
Useful Expressions:
far away prepare for hang up set off dress up no matter how try to do just to sweep out on both sides of make+n.+adj so that
Ability goal
To use the hot words and expressions
Spend celebrate prepare (for) sweep ,dress up hang up no matter how
Moral goal
   To develop the occupation consciousness
三. Important points
To describe the festival using the hot words and expressions
四. Difficult points
To describe the festival using the hot words and expressions frequently and correctly
Ⅱ.Teaching Methods
The aim of vocational education for English requires that we should train theapplied talents, especially the abilities of their communication. As we all know, our students will go to work in about two years, their spoken English is important and helpful. In order to train the ability of the students’ communication. I will use the communicative approach to arouse the interesting and create the context,I will use  task-based teaching approachto make the class lively and improve the learning efficency.Besides,I will use team cooperation approach in class to enchance the group cooperation..
Ⅲ. Learning Methods
Now I am teaching services professional students. Their English is a little weak. But they are very active and interested in the knowledge about our Chinese traditional customs and culture. In order to improve their spoken English and make everybody has their own different progress.I will use circumstance method ,the inquiry method, the cooperation method .I believe these method can help few students open their mouths to speak some easy English.
 
ⅴ.Procedures of Teaching
The aim of this lesson is to practice their abilities of communication, especially their spoken English. So I will focus on their expressions, pronunciation, tune, fluncy in this lesson. Then I delt with the lesson like this: warming-up, production, evaluation and homework.
Preparation before the class
First I divided my class into 3 groups to enchance their the team cooperation and the abilities of self study..
Second, to consolidate and try to use the hot words and expressions my students and I did the following preparation for the lesson. Of course I gave them the tasks according to their different English levels.
1.To read and understand the text.
2..To remember the hot words and expressions.
3..To mark the customs about the Spring Festival on the textbook.
4.To look through the information about the Spring Festival on internet.
5.To practice and act it out using the hot words and expressions.
Step. 1 Warming-up
As my ss know the visit, and did they spend a lot in preparing, I’ll directly tell my ss at the beginning of the class: “Boys and girls, In order to help us to introduce our traditional cultures, this lesson is a production. The subject is how to spend the Spring Festival. Now let’s begin.”
Step2. Production
Before the production I showed the check table to the students. The check table includes the details about the spoken English, they are pronunciation, fluncy, tune, everyday expressions and pronfessional aspects. And I asked them to keep score according to the table. Then I showed the hot words and expressions about the Spring Festival. Miss X , Would you please allow me to give you an example? Yes, thank you. The production began. One student played the role of the waiter/waitress, about 4 or 5 students played the role of the foreigners. The waiter was introducing the traditional customers about the Spring Festival to the foreigners. Certainly I would take part in the production to guide and help them. This is a part of falsh about the production.

Step3. Evaluation
In order to stress the occupation consciousness, I did the evaluation: First, I would praise my ss for their effort and positivenes. Second, I would give them some advice according to their production and the check table like this, “My dear friends, not only should we try to speak English flquently, but we should combine our professional aspects into our communication, such as our smile, our manners and our professional knowledge. Please remember this formula: sincerity + smile = success”
Step4.Homework
Writing: to write a short writing about the Spring Festival using the hot words and useful expressions in this text.

.Teaching reflection
I think my advantage is that I achieved my teaching goals by making full use of these teaching and learning methods. Most of my students have taken part in the production to practice the Spoken English. To my great joy, they began to pay more attention to the pronfessional knowledge during the production. My disadvantage is that I didn’t do well in mastering the time because of my devoting to my teaching. Besides above, I think there are 2 points that I should improve. First,we should practice more our spoken English, including me. Second, there are several students are shame/lazy to open their mouths to speak English, I must/have to give them more chance to practice.

My advantage is that I successfully organized the students to describe the festivals frequently using the hot words and expressions we have learned. The disadvantage is that I didn’t do well in mastering the time because both the students and I were addictive in this lesson.

 There are several foreigners to spend the Spring Festival with us.As a waiter/waitress, it is our responsiblty to explain our traditional customs to them. So  this lesson we will practise describing the Spring Festival with the hot words and expressions”.  
Step2:Practice
The group representation first speak out the hot words and expressions while another one write them on the blackboard. I will guide and correct the mistakes.
The students begin to act it out in their own group. I will guide and correct the mistakes.
Step3. Production
First, every group can recommend the excellent pair to act out the circumstance, then I will randomly choose another pair to act it out again.
