高中英语必修1 Unit4 Reading tasks说课
一、分析教材
本单元话题为“地震”,主要描写了1976年唐山大地震,各项语言活动也都是围绕地震展开。Pre-reading 部分设置了两个开放性问题,目的是增加学生的生活常识,提高他们的应变能力。这部分为接下来的阅读作了很好的铺垫,学生可通过套乱,参阅有关地震的书籍并运用一些生活常识来回答这两个问题。Reading 部分具体描写了1976年唐山大地震的震前、震中和震后。作者详细描述了地震来临前的一些不正常的自然现象及动物的反常表现;地震的来势汹汹并在顷刻间将整座城市夷为平地;震后人们勇敢面对现实并及时实施抢救和重建工作。Comprehending 部分包括三组练习,主要目的是为了帮助学生更好地理解Reading部分的文章。
二、分析学生
高一(3)(4)班均为平行班。学生总体参差不齐,没有太过拔尖的,但有绝对落后的。这给日常的英语教学造成了极大的影响。俗话说榜样的力量是无穷的,可榜样有好有坏,个别相对较上进较积极的学生要想带动大面积的学习被动无计划性的学生是相当困难的。根据观察学生把英语作业及英语学习总是放在较为次要的地位。甚至有的根本对英语视而不见。面对有如此问题的学生,只能通过耐心、细致、深入浅出讲解以及非智力因素来达到吸引他们的兴趣或培养他们的兴趣。以期能对本学科多点关注多点心思。
三、分析目标
本课时将德育教育目标与知识教育目标想结合。通过对地震知识的学习、5.12大地震和我校前两个星期一举行的“防地震、火灾演习”,向学生灌输“防患于未然”和自救的知识。具体目标如下:
(一)让学生了解唐山大地震的有关情况。
(二)帮助学生认识到这个道理:如果了解并认识地震前的前兆,就能提前做好准备,让更多的人获得求生的机会,减少或避免不必要的损失。
(三)让学生进一步学习使用恰当的阅读方法与技能,如细读、总结、归纳内容的能力、猜测词义的能力等。
(四)学习并掌握本课的词语、表达方式、语法结构。
四、分析教法
紧扣大纲,立足教材,抓住“Pre-reading(阅读前)、While-reading(阅读中)及Post-reading(阅读后)”三个环节
五、教学步骤
Step1 Review
1. Ask the students to look at the new words of this lesson and read after teacher.
2. Pay attention to “earthquake” and have a brainstorm.
Q: What will you think of when you see the word?
Get the answers and write down on the blackboard.
Step2 Pre-reading
Show some statistics of Wenchuan Earthquakes.
Dead: 69225 Lost: 17923 Injured: 374640
Q: Can earthquakes be prevented and predicted?
Q: What do you think will happen before an earthquake?
Advise the students to analyze the picture in page 25.
Part1.We can see bright lights in the sky.
Part2.The animals are too nervous to eat and try to escape.
Part3.Fish are jumping out of their ponds and mice ran out of the fields looking for place to hide.
Part4.The well walls have deep cracks in them and the water rises and falls.
All of these are called pre-earthquake warning signs.
Introduce Tangshan earthquake
T: 32 years ago, on the day July, the 28th, a terrible disaster suddenly happened, and the beautiful Tangshan was removed from the map. This is Tangshan earthquake. Does anybody know something about Tangshan earthquake?
T: Let’s read a news report about the terrible quake.
Step3 While-reading
I. Skimming & scanning
Get the students comprehend the passage quickly, and meanwhile help the students to form a good habit of reading.
Skim the passage fast and underline the answers to the following questions.
1. When did the quake happen?
2. How many people were killed and injured during the quake?
3. How many buildings were destroyed?
II. While reading divides the whole passage into 3 parts and find out the main idea of each part.
Para.1 before the quake
Para.2-3 during the quake
Para.4 after the quake
Ⅲ. Careful-reading
Listen to the tape and ask the students to follow it gently
Read the passage again and try to get more detailed information.
Get five students to answer the questions in the book “Best Design” page 34.
Choose another five students to translate the sentences into Chinese.
Ask them if they have any questions about the passage, including words, phrases and sentences.
Solve these problems in class.
Step4 Post-reading
Base on reading several times. Let the students to complete the following passage.
Several days before July 28, 1976 many s___________ things happened in Tangshan. They were signs for an e___________. But people who lived there didn’t think m_________ of that. At 3:42 am that day, the earth began to s___________, which d____________ almost all the city in a few seconds. Many people, including workers and doctors, came to r_________ those who were t__________ under the ruins. Later that afternoon, another big earthquake struck the city. More people were killed or i_________ and more buildings f_________ down. Very soon the army sent a lot of soldiers to help, and teams were o__________ to dig out the trapped and b_________ the dead. Check the answers and get the whole class to read together.
