Teaching goals
1. Target language
a. Words and phrases:
rare, valuable, survive, in search of, amaze, design, fancy, decorate, belong to, in return, at war, remove, less than, doubt, former
b. Key sentences:

a. Enable the students to understand the text better.

Help the students learn by themselves and finish the given tasks.

Get the students to understand the language points and learn to use them correctly.

Skimming method, task-based method, individual and group work
Teaching procedures
Step 1. Revision and lead-in
Use a word quiz to get the students ready for learning.
Step 2. Reading for information
Ask the students to read the text quickly and try to underline the following important words and phrases:

Step 3. Dealing with language points
Task 1: Match the following words and phrases from the text with its meanings:

Task 2: Learn the language points carefully by students themselves and do the exercises given:
Get the students accomplish the tasks through group-work with the help of the Learning Design.
Task 3: Learn the important grammar and structure:
Group-work to deal with the important structures and grammar. The teacher gives some guidance when necessary.
Task 4: Play a guessing game to practice using attributive clauses.
Step 4. Consolidation
Do the exercises in the Practicing Plan to consolidate what the students have learnt.
