公告:
一)Preparation and revision:
1.Greeting:
e.g.:T:What date is it today? What are you going to do for your holiday? Where are you going to visit on your holiday? Where have you been? What country/What city have you been to?
P:I am going to visit Shanghai/Xiamen…./I have been to Sichuan/Beijing….
T: Well. Beijing is the capital of China.学习capital。
T:Can you tell me what’s the capital of England?
P: London.
当学生回答得好时引出excellent,并同时学习capital。
2.Revision: 电脑上出示五幅带有标志性建筑物的首都图,右上角标有英文翻译,分别是:英国大笨钟(Big Ben) 、天安门广场(Tian An Men Square)、美国白宫(the White House)、澳大利亚的格里芬湖(Lake Burley Griffin)、法国凯旋门(Triumphal Arch),复习有关the UK,China, the USA, Australia, France国家的单词和What country can you see this building?等句型。
(设计意图:让学生复习有关已学的国家,为后面学习国家、首都做好铺垫。通过游戏,把一些世界著名的建筑物显示出来,加大学生的Input,扩大学生的知识面,激活学生思维的同时,又提高学生学习英语的兴趣,达到活用的目的。)
3.Song《I’ve Been Travelling to Paris》,引出这节课的Topic 。
T :What countries and capitals do you want to know in this class?
(设计意图:既调动学生的积极性,活跃课堂气氛,又为学习本课新句型作捕垫)
二).Presentation and practice:
T:What country do you know?
P:The UK./…
T:What’s the capital of the UK/…?
P:London./The capital of the UK is London./…
T:What national flag is it ? It’s the national flag of the UK.
(1)操练方法:一、二列TP问答,第三列后PP问答,同时板书并学习上句子:What’s the capital of …? The capital of … is …. 和What national flag is it ? It’s…. 及单词flag, national, national flag,Italian。
(设计意图:鼓励学生课前预习单词,放手让学生自由表达,创造机会去发展学生的自学能力,让学生自觉地运用自己的心力去学习新知,使学习变得积极、主动、兴趣盎然。)
(2)老师可适当问一下中文,帮助学生记忆。
(3)给学生短时间记忆表格,梳理知识。
(4)四人小组记忆练习:Card Game:看谁反应快,T先示范一次。
玩法:每个学生手上拿着一套3个有关首都单词的卡片,分别用句型What’s the capital of …? 轮着提问,当一学生问完后,其余学生边答边以最快速度把相应答案的卡片放在桌子上,谁手上的全部卡片掉得最快就说Bingo。(卡片先放信封里)
(设计意图:小组互动,生生互动,旨在让每个学生都有说的机会,教师遵循听说领先,读写跟上的原则,重视了说的训练,并把所学句型融会到游戏之中,激发学生参与活动的兴趣。)
(5)两大组对抗赛:
Guessing game: A riddle.由小组根据表格内容自己设计riddle考对方。
⑴TP示范: Now let’s play a game. Listen and guess: What national flag is it ?
T手上拿起一张有关国旗的纸,国旗背对学生,学生看不见国旗:This is a flag. It’s red. And there are five yellow stars on it. Guess,what national flag is it ? 如学生回答不出,老师可以给更多有关国旗或国家相关资料的Tips:And there are five yellow stars on it.You can see the Great Wall there.等。
引导P:It’s the Chinese national flag.
(设计意图:为学生设计一个小组对抗赛,创造一个情绪愉快、兴趣浓厚、求知欲强、思维活跃的气氛,激发学生的积极性,使他们成为名副其实的学习主体,让学生在玩玩猜猜的过程中巩固已学知识。)
2. 课文学习:
(1)The first time: Listen and fill in the form:找出课文谈论的国家:

(2)The second time: listen ,order and stick .(Group work)
(设计意图:让学生带着要求去听课文录音,目的性强,听的效率会大大提高。)
(3) Check the answers. 学习New York, Sydney。
(4)整体学习课文:听录音跟读。
3.(1)T根据课文内容提取主要信息重编一段短文:Put in the missing words:
Every country has its own capital city. For example, the capital of China is Beijing. The capital of the UK is London. And Rome is the capital city of Italy. Paris is a romantic city, it is the capital of France. New York is the biggest city of the USA. But it is not the capital of America. The capital of the USA is Washington D.C.. Sydney is the largest city in Australia. But it isn’t the capital city, either. The capital of Australia is Canberra.
(设计意图:老师提取课文主要信息重编短文,帮助学生更透彻地理解课文。)
(2)学生读短文,并尝试背诵。
三).Development:
做相应有关cities的阅读一篇P27,根据上下文猜词义:population,fountain。并做以下练习:
1. What’s the Chinese for population?
A. 数量
B. 人口
C. 面积
2. What’s the Chinese for fountain?
A. 瀑布
B. 火山
C. 人造喷泉
3. What city is the biggest city in Australia?
A. Sydney.
B. Paris.
C. Canberra.
4. What is the capital city of Australia?
A. Sydney.
B. Canberra.
C. WashingtonD.C.
5. What can you see in the city?
A. In the city you can see shops, zoos and animals.
B. In the city you can see museums, markets and rivers.
C. In the city you can see museums, parks and big lakes.
(设计意图:使知识与能力得到同步发展的同时,对于学有余力的学生,又可以在创新题中拓展思路,满足他们的求知欲望。)
四)Homework:
1.模仿P.27选择一个最感兴趣的首都,制成Poster.
2.上网搜集相关首都的资料。
3.不会的单词各抄三个。
