(the third period) Teaching Analysis: This class is the third period in this Unit. It mainly deals with reading and writing. Holidays are most closely connected with the history of the country, which have a special background of origin and a long history of development. Everyone can spend it in his own way. The text is about joke. The passage mainly introduces how the people spend their Christmas time in their special way. The writing part asks the students to describe the Eater day and how to prepare the holiday with given pictures. This unit helps the students to understand the holidays in western countries by means of reading and writing. Students Analysis Generally speaking, vocational school students have little interest in English and are poor in listening, speaking, reading and writing. It is hard for the teachers to arouse their interest and stimulate their subjective initiative in class; but they have great interests in new things. For holiday, especially western holidays, they are eager to know something about them, but they know little about them. In view of the above factors, the students will positively participate in the classroom activities if the teacher guides them according to circumstances.
