Oceans Under Threat说课稿
一、教学内容
Oceans under Threat《新世纪高中英语》高中二年级第一学期第六课的课文。这是一篇科普类的说明文,主要介绍了海洋以及海洋生物所面临的威胁。文章以关键词作为小标题,分别从"overfishing" "threats to marine life" "pollution" 以及"possible solutions" 几个方面逐一介绍了海洋的现状。全文条理清晰,适于训练学生的阅读技巧与阅读速度。
二、教学重点、难点
1.了解海洋及海洋生物所面临的威胁。

四、教学步骤
1.Pre-reading
 通过播放加勒比海海底世界的短片进行导入,给学生视觉的享受,对海底世界有了较为直观地了解,从而引发学生的好奇心,激发他们学习的兴趣,自然而然地把学生引入课文阅读的主题。
 在导入过程中,利用学生已掌握的词汇以及已有的关于海洋的背景知识,进行问题设计,进一步激发学生的学习兴趣和学习积极性。
2.While-reading
整个while-reading分为三步
1) Skimming
让学生用skimming的方法快速快速熟悉课文的大致框架。通过skimming学生发现文章可以分为两部分:海洋所面临的问题以及可行的解决方法,其中所面临的问题是文章的主体。
2)Scanning
这一环节旨在具体的、快速的阅读和理解文章。
在了解了文章的大致框架后,让学生通过scanning进一步熟悉、细化重点内容。由于文章着重于海洋及海洋生物所面临的各种威胁,所以各个段落并不十分密切,所以逐段进行阅读和练习。通过这样的教学手法,可以教会学生如何处理一些较长的文章,避免读了后面忘了前面的内容,或者读完全文后对内容有印象但找不到具体段落。
3)Conclusion
在通过scanning对文章重点有了具体、细化的了解后,通过填表让学生对整篇文章有了一个清晰的脉络图,然后通过这张表格让学生自行进行全文的归纳总结,使学生真正做到自主学习。
3.Post-reading
在这一环节中,通过brainstorming和group discussion的形式,让学生意识到身边的一些环境污染问题,树立环保意识。

I. Pre-reading
 Watch the video about the ocean, and then try to finish the following tasks.
 Find any adjective to describe what you have seen in the video.
 Now such beautiful scens are disappearing. Do you know the threats to the oceans?
II. While Reading.
 1. Skimming
    Skim the passage for one minute especially the titles for each paragraph, and then try to answer the questions:
    1) What are the two main threats to the oceans?
2) Which section is NOT about the problems our oceans are facing?
   
 
 2. Scanning
Para. B, C.
1) If fishing boats take too many of the same species of fish, some ocean waters will be
overfished.
2) Due to overfishing, there are not enough fish left to breed so it affects other fish in the food chain and as a result there may not be_enough fish for people to eat.
3)Tourism may destory coral and shellfish and disturb the natural cycles of marine life.
