《Liu Xiang : A Sports Star》说课稿

关于课文
本篇课文选自中等职业技术学校教材《基础英语》第三册。
教学目标和要求
本课时是第2课时,教学目标主要是对课文进行阅读、巩固和能力拓展。要求通过学习,学生能达到以下要求:
1.知识目标
能够牢固掌握好课文中的重点词组;结合课文中的问题阅读课文,提高口语能力,运用已经学会的课文中的句式,并能以此谈谈自己的偶像。
2.能力目标
能够独立阅读课文,能够正确回答关于课文内容的提问,能够用英语简单交谈关于自己生活中的理想人物,树立正确的人生价值观。
3.情感目标
通过小组讨论,培养同学们的交际能力和团队合作精神;了解刘翔的体育成就,使学生在日常生活中形成正确的人生价值观,从而能健康成长。
不同的教学目标和要求
A. 对于基础相对好的同学,能够简单交谈关于人生价值观和心中的偶像。
B. 对于基础中等的同学,能够简单运用一些英语口语进行表述。
C. 程度较弱的同学,要求能够熟练掌握课文中的生词和词组,能够正确回答课文问题。
教学重点
1.Students will be able to talk about some personal information about Liu Xiang.
2.Students will be able to grasp the expressions on their goals of their life, their heroes and be familiar with the topic after practicing orally. 
教学难点
To express their opinions on their heroes and goals of their life.
学情分析
该班部分学生英语基础比较好,部分比较薄弱,学习的主动性参差不齐,性格普遍也比较内向。
教学指导思想
鉴于以上情况,本人在教学活动中采用任务型教学,充分调动学生学习的主动性,积极性,自觉性,充分体现课堂上学生为主,教师为辅,师生互动的指导思想,让每一个学生都能“动”起来,不同层次的学生都能有一定的提高。
教学活动
热身练习:整堂课的教学活动设计是由易到难的。
先播放两段刘翔的影音资料,让学生一起来讨论关于刘翔的私人信息,要求学生能回顾出英语的表述形式(Warming-up exercises: tell Liu Xiang’s personal information )为之后的教学活动先做一个热身练习。
活动一:复习上节课所讲的单词和短语。
活动二:快速阅读课文,提出问题。
1. Why did people say that Liu Xiang began his athletic career in 2002?
2. What was his dream after winning the international prize in 2002?
3. What is Liu Xiang’s biggest achievement since the 2004 Summer Olympic Games?
让学生根据课文内容回答问题。
活动三:通过翻译的形式,来让学生重点巩固课文里的短语。
活动四:提出问题:Who are your heroes? Why are they your heroes? 然后导出刘翔对心中偶像的表述,让学生学会使用例句形式阐述自己的心中偶像。
教法
本节课采用的是互动(interactive)、交流(communicative)等教学方法,教学中以学生为主体。
学法
课堂教学以学生为主体,尽可能给学生多一些活动的余地,多一些表现自我的机会,多一份尝试成功的喜悦,让学生自始自终参与到知识形成的全过程中,将“一言堂”变成“群言堂”,让他们通过合作学习法(cooperative learning)、互动学习法(interactive learning)来完成课堂任务。

教学目标
1、Students will be able to grasp the key words and phrases in the text .
2、Students will be able to read the text quickly and find the answers of the questions of the text.
3、Students will be able to talk about some personal information about Liu Xiang. .
4、By learning this lesson, the students can correct the goals of their own life , which can lead them to a better life.
5、By learning the task, the students can describe their own heroes.

教学过程
 
Step 1 Watch a video, then check the answers of Liu Xiang’s personal information.

Born:              July 13th , 1983
Nationality :        Chinese
Current residence:    Shanghai
 
Sport :             110m hurdles
Achievements in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games:
Gold medalist of the 110m hurdles event, equaling Colin Jackson’s 1993 world record of 12.91s in the same event.
His best record :      12.88s
The location where he created this record: Lausanne, Switzerland
His hobby ;        singing etc.
 
Step2 Revision of the words and phrases

Step3 Let the students read the text quickly , then answer the following questions according to the text:
1)Why did people say that Liu Xiang began his athletic career in 2002?
In 2002, Liu Xiang won his first international prize. His record was 13.12 seconds in the 110m hurdles event.
2)What was his dream after winning the international prize in 2002?
He dreamed of having a chance to compete with the American hurdler Allen Johnson , one of the best athletes in the world then.
 
3)What is Liu Xiang’s biggest achievement since the 2004 Summer Olympic Games?
He set a new world record in Lausanne, Switzerland on July 11th, 2006. His time was 12.88 seconds.
 
Step 4 Revision of some language points in the text
1.compete with sb.
e.g. 他希望有一天能和他的偶像竞争。
He wished t o compete with his heroes some day.
2.manage to do sth.
e.g. I managed t o get a good score this time.
3.continue to do sth.
e.g. 你现在应该继续做你的作业。
You should continue to do your homework now.
4.set a new world record
 
Step 5 Complete the task (Work in groups )
Encouraging the students to follow the example , talking about their own heroes.
Discussing in groups, after that let some students come to the front to express their opinions.
Step 6 Conclusion
1. Watching video ,talking about some information about Liu Xiang,
2. Going over words ,phrases and language points in the text.
3. Reading the text quickly .
4. talking about the topic of “heroes”.
 
Homework
1.Read the text fluently .
2.Complete the Knowledge Check on page 34.
