牛津高中英语M7U4Reading 说课稿1
Interpretation
In the reading process, I will focus on students’ long-term development and enable them to use proper reading skills and strategies. In other words, students are guided to read efficiently and independently .My teaching plan will include 7 sections. They’re analysis of the reading material, identifying the teaching aims , Important and Difficult Points , Teaching Methods , Teaching aids ,teaching procedures and Blackboard Design.
Section 1 Analysis of the teaching material
The selected teaching material is a article taken from the reading section of Module 7, Unit4 of Advance with English. This is the first period of the Reading:“The first underground in the world”. The article is a tourist brochure about the London Underground, which is intended to develop the theme of the unit, that is, Public transport. After analyzing it carefully, I find the article has two unique characteristics. First, it’s a long passage with 688 words, much more than the usual texts. Second, it is a tourist brochure, the reading strategy can help the students more.
Section 2 Identifying the teaching aims
According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus, and after studying the teaching material, the teaching aims are the followings:
The 1st aim: .Stimulate the Ss’ interest in learning English by talking about their own
traveling experiences.
The 2nd aim: Enable the Ss to gain some knowledge about London Underground and
reinforce their reading comprehension.and grasp the main idea of the
article.
The 3rd aim: Develop the students’ reading ability---how to read a tourist brochure.
Section 3 Important and Difficult Points
Based on the requirement of the syllabus. The important and difficult points are:
1.Get students to understand the main idea of the reading passage.
2.Have students know something about the London Underground.
Section 4 Teaching Methods
As is known to us all, a good teaching method requires that the teacher should help Ss develop good sense of the English language. For achieving these teaching aims, (after the analysis of the teaching material and teaching aims,) I will use the following methods according to the modern social communication teaching
theories.(Guided reading and Task-Based Teaching as the main teaching approaches).
1. Communicative Approach
2. Whole Language Teaching
3. Task-based Language Teaching Total Situational Action a “scene — activity”
teaching method , it establishes a real scene and the interaction between the teacher and the Ss. At the same time, CAI can provide a real situation with its sound and picture, it can develop the creativity in learning English.
Section 5 Teaching aids
A projector, a tape-recorder and slides
Section 6 Teaching procedures
In order to achieve the teaching aims mentioned above, The teaching procedures include six parts. They’re getting ready, focusing on main facts, reading between the lines and responding the text.
Step 1 Review of different means of transportation
Show students a few pictures of different means of transportation and get them to tell the names of the transportation tools to consolidate what they have learned.
Step 2 Lead-in
Lead-in by the following questions.

Step3 Skimming
After the step of lead-in ,it is the time for me to get the students to skim the text ,The aim is to have the students to get the general idea of the passage, the students are required to answer some questions after reading it.

3.Use the reading strategy of how to read a tourist brochure and analyse the structure Purpose of my design: let the students find the main idea of the passage. Step 5: Practice: 1.Complete Part D and finish off Part E. Then answer the question: What is your impression of the London underground? Please use your own words to give a description.(old / user-friendly / complex / convenient/……) 2. Role-play Suppose you are a guide. Now you are leading a tourist group to Nanjing City. Please combine the knowledge of our hometown you have already known with the language skills we learned today to give the tourist a short speech. Purpose of my design: This step is used here to develop Ss ’ability of co-operation. If the students can finish the task well, they will benefit their spoken English.
