Teaching goals：
Learn Part A, B and C of Unit 2: I want some rice/ soup……Do you want some soup/ vegetables……? Yes, please./ Yes, thank you. Learn to be polite to others.
The important points:
Sentence pattern: I want some……; Do you want some……?
Difficult points：
Sentences: The children are having lunch in Lingling’s home. Say “please”. He’s very rude, Mummy. Do you want some more rice?
Preparation：
tape recorder, cards computer and TV.
Teaching steps:
Step 1: Greetings
T: Good morning, boys and girls!
Nice to see you again!
How’s it going?
Step 2: Presentation
CAI shows pictures of water, soup, vegetables, breakfast, lunch, dinner, pepper and salt.
Drill the words and phrases above.
Play a game: Listen and use the mouse to point to the right picture. (Have a match between boys and girls) T: I want some water/ soup/ vegetables/ pepper/ salt; I’m very hungry. I want have breakfast/ lunch/ dinner.
Ask a student to act being hungry. T asks him: Do you want some rice? S: Yes. Thank you. T: Do you want some more rice?
T acts to be very hungry. Let Ss try to ask: Do you want some rice/ dumplings/ buns/……? T answers: Yes, please. Thank you very much.
Step 3: Practice.
T: Open your books and listen to the tape.
Listen and understand and imitate;
Practice reading sentence by sentence.
Step 4: Performance.
Pair work or group work: Read the dialogues.
Act the dialogues without books.
Step 5: Let’s do some exercises on the workbook.

Go over Part A、B、C of Unit 2, Learn Part D and Part E of Unit 2:
Go on to practice using the sentence pattern: Do you want some……?
Learn to use “ please” and “thank you” in some certain occasion.

Go on to practice using the sentence pattern: Do you want some……?
Learn to use “please” and “thank you” in some certain occasion.
Learn to sing.

Difficult points:
Understand the dialogues. Fill in the blanks.

Preparation：
tape recorder, cards computer and TV.

T asks a student to draw a tree on the blackboard without giving him/ her a chalk. And then T asks him/ her: Do you want a chalk?
T is ready to write something onto the notebook, but she acts to have no pen. ( She wants some students to ask: Do you want a pen?)
T acts to be very hungry/ thirsty/……, she needs to be asked: Do you want some bread/ water?
T asks some students to act, and then they ask other students to raise some questions.

Step 3: Turn to Part D:
Fill in the blanks with “please” or “thank you”.
