Teaching contents: Section B 3a、3b 3c and 4
Teaching aims:
1、Knowledge Objects:
1) According to the reading material, make students know how Chinese traditional doctor deal with some healthy problem.
2) Let students understand these words: “yin 、yang 、 balance of yin and yang、Dangshen Huangqi
3) To learn some language points: it’s good for ……. / it’s important to do sth /it’s easy to/ too much/for example/
2、Ability Objects:
1) To improve students’ reading skill : teach students how to understand an article
2) Make stuedents know how to get information quickly by reading
3) Teach students how to learn an articl by themselves.
3、 Moral ability: By learning this article , make students finally know the importance of keeping healthy and how to keep healthy.
Teaching key points:
1 To improve students’ reading ability and reading technique.
2 Make students know how Chinese doctor deal with some healthy problem
Teaching difficulties:
Let students kwon what are the “yin” “yang” and “a balance of yin and yang” and how to keep balance of yin and yang.
Teaching tragedies and methods:
1 Learn in a group. 2 set questions and deal with question by themselves.
Teaching aids:
Multimedia: powerpoints and recording
Teaching procedure:
StepⅠGreeting and lead-in
1、Greet students as usual and make a simple introduction
2 Lead-in:
1)Show some a picture with some problems and then aks: “What’s the matter with them?” “ What should they do?” (Teacher present:These are our own advice,but if you are a Chinese traditional doctor,what you can you do to deal with these problems? Today ,we are going to study an article.After studying this article, we will know what they will do)
2) Free talk:talk about your eating habits:
What food do you like to eat? I like to eat…
What foods do you think are healthy ?
What food is good for you?
What should we eat to keep healthy?

StepⅡTo learn 3a
1、 Have students know something about Chinese mdicine:
1) Show the photo of a great Chinese traditional doctor: Bianque and let students know him
2) Show two pair of pictures about Chinese herbs(Huangqi and Dangshen) and western medicine and Chinese medicine.
(By the two activities , let students know the diffierences between China and western Countries)
2、Play the recording about this article
1) Before listen to the tape,ask students to pay attention to the phrases and words on the screen.
2) After listen to the tape, let students read these phrases and words and some structures need to make up sentences.
3) Read after the tape.
4)Read in silence and answer questions:
What do traditional Chinese doctors believe?
If you are often weak and tired, what should you eat?
If you are too stressed out and angry, what should you eat?
3、Work in a group and fill in the chart.Give students two tasks:firstly, to talk about the question and then fill the chart.(ask someone to check answers)
4、To understand the meaning of this passage by a digram:
1)show some key phrases and pictures 2) Teacher give right instruction to let students know the contexts.
StepⅢ 3b Fill in the blanks in the article\
1) Let students fill in the small passage by themselves and teacher give some instructions.
2) Show the passage on the screen and let students exchange the answers.
3) Pay attention to the phrases: get tired 、stay healthy
StepⅣ To write a composition
1、 Tell students the demands of this composition
2、 Show the instructions and sample beginning of compositon on the screen.
3、 Let students write their own composition by themselves and teacher give some diretions
4、 If have some time, let someone read their works.

Do a survey: Who is Dr Know?
According to the prcblems, give your students some advice.
