通过生日这一主题，呈现话题，谈论和学习日期的英语表达方法以及如何询问出生日期、地点。本课内容比较单一，并不复杂，掌握出生日期和地点的表达方法为本课的重难点。
IV. 教学对象分析 ：
该班学生学习兴趣较高，口语表达能力尚佳，有较强的表现力，只是对于知识总是停留于表面，理解不是很深，常出现细小的错误。针对以上特点，本课采取了活动教学法，以学生开口说为主，以“先上口，后上手”为原则，展开教学，并以任务型的活动作为学生活学活用语言点的平台，对学生展开了适时的情感教育。
V. 教学目标和教学过程：
Teaching aims and demands:
1. To talk about the dates.
2. To learn the usage of “was/were”.
3. To master the useful expressions. “be born”
New vocabulary:
were, born, be born, was, thousand, Spain
Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Warming-up
1. Greeting.
2. Review the names of twelve months.
3. Show some dates. And let students read them out as quickly as they can.
Step2 presentation
1. Go on to learn the expressions of year. First, listen to the tape, and then read these years together. Let students make a conclusion.
Show some other years. Read them out orally. 1985, 1961, 1994, 2030
2. Check the answers and match the pictures.
3. These dates are very important for us. This month, another day is important for me. That’s April 27th. April 27th is my birthday. I was born on April 27th.
When is your birthday?
