ⅤTeaching steps: Step 1: Greeting Say hello to the students.
Step 2: Presentation T: Please turn to page 59. T: Have you done 1a? Who have done it? Raise your hand! S: T: Lily write down the second word and your answer on the blackboard without your book. . . . (Ask some students to write down new words and their answers on the blackboard without their books) T: 那老师想知道咱班有哪位同学会跳舞呀? S: T:那“你会弹吉他吗”用英语怎么说呢? . . . (Use the new words to directly lead in the new sentence pattern: Can you ……? And its short answers: Yes,…../No,…..) T: Look at the picture on your book, you can see the sentence “I want to join the art club.” Club俱乐部. And, do you remember last unit we have learn the sentence “Do you want to go to a movie?”. Want to do something. So “I want to join the art club”意思就是说:我想参加艺术俱乐部. . . .
(Read and understand the picture dialogue) T: Can是情态动词,没有人称和数的变化. For example, Meg, can you swim? S: T: Tom, can she swim? S: . . . (Use the students to give examples to lead in the sentence pattern: Can she/he……? And its short answers.) T: 大家对比一下play the guitar 与play chess ,发现它们之间有什么不同吗? S: . . . (Explain the difference between play with ball and chess or musical instrument.) T: Listen and number 1b (Look at their books and listen to the recorder and number. Then repeat after it.)
Step 3: Game I show the pictures quickly (ART CLUB、MUSIC CLUB、etc.) The students should look carefully and say out the new word quickly. And then ask some students to show the pictures.
Step 4: Summary Ask the students to summarize what we learn in this class, then the teacher summarize.
Step 5: Homework 1) Write the new words, two times. 2) Make conversation by using the new words and sentence pattern with their desk-mates, and write down the notebook.
