过程与方法：
通过小组活动，谈论希望工程，进一步了解希望工程，练习大数字的表达法；通过个体活动，阅读文章的大意从而确定文章的主题，然后小组合作讨论、核对；通过个体阅读，理解文章细节，然后小组合作回答问题，还要通过上下文的因果关系找出答案；个体和小组竞赛快速完成活动4、5，理解和巩固词汇。

教学反思：
本课的主要话题是希望工程。首先，开展有目的的提问。在和谐的课堂氛围中，通过交谈式的提问，谈论学习生活，使学生感兴趣，巩固现在完成时的用法，为新知识铺垫，学生有话说，让学生对所学语言产生亲切感，引发学生学习英语的动机。接着，通过提问，Do you know something about “Project Hope”？按照教材知识结构的内在顺序和学生认知活动的顺序进行，环环相扣，由浅入深,通过听、说，引出“希望工程”； 通过真实数据，把希望工程的贡献，当视角作为提问的切入点练习听、说、读，进一步了解希望工程，巩固现在完成时。再根据文章内容，精心设计有效的问答，练习听、说、读、理解大意，了解希望工程的重要性。第三，把握时机。通过有意义的问答，细节理解文章，进一步理解希望工程的深刻意义。如：Do you often look after your parents when they are ill？Why or Why not？、Did Shen’s school have lots of books last year ？What was Shen’s school like last year ? Would you like to give your used books to poor children ? Who has given money to Project Hope ?What can you do to help poor children ? Would you like to give your pocket money to them?
