Ladies and Gentlemen,
It’s my great pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you.
The content of my lesson is《Pioneer English 》Book3 Unit7 ‘Is it a pear?’
First, let me talk about the teaching material. This lesson shows us a story about fruits. It includes 4 important sentences. It provide a real situation for the Ss to practise the pattern: What’s this/that? It’s a ( ) Is it a lemon? Yes, it is./No, it isn’t.
Then, let me talk about the teaching aims.
1. Knowledge aim:

b)Ss can use the patterns to express their thoughts in the proper scene.
c )To train the Ss’ ability of working in groups.
3.Emotion aims:
a)By completing the task , the Ss increase their interest and set up self-confidence in language study.
Ⅲ、The key points of this lesson:
(1) To help Ss ask and answer the question: “What’s this/that? It’s a ( ) Is it a lemon? Yes, it is./No, it isn’t.”
(2) To enable Ss to study in groups and co-operate skillfully.
(3) To develop Ss’ interest in English
IV. Difficult points
1、 Ss can use the words and patterns to describe in real situations, and make simple dialogues.
V. Teaching methods
As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils’ basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. So in this part, I’ll mainly use “Task-based”. The “Task-based” offers the Ss an opportunity to complete the tasks in which Ss use language to achieve a specific outcome.
VI. Teaching procedures
Step 1. Warm-up and review
1. Greet with the Ss.
2. Say and act the chant: An apple for you(Show a real apple and banana)
Step 2. Presentation
T show a bowl. “What’s this?” “A bowl.”(T can help Ss)
“What’s in it?”(let Ss see) T---“Salad.” “Do you want to eat?”(let S eat a piece of apple, T said “Yum?”)T---“What’s that?”S—“Apple.”Let another S eat a piece of lemon. “Yum?” “No.” “Yuk.”T—“Is it an apple?”S---“No.”T--- “A lemon. Lulu doesn’t like lemon too. Let’s watch!”
Step3 Text teaching
1. Let Ss watch the flash of this text carefully.
2. Point to the picture1. “Who are they?” “Lulu and Mockey.” “Who is that?” “That’s Aunt Booky” “What’s she doing?” T can help Ss. Repeat these steps with other pictures.
3. Open their books, turn to page 2. Listen again and point to each sentences.
4. Read follow the tape one sentence by one sentence. Imitate Panpan’s voice. Then follow me to read the difficult sentences.
5. Show many fruits’pictures. T wears Lulu’s mask. Ss act Mockey. But look at blackboard and T. Shouldn’t read books. Then change, Ss act Lulu.
6. Read the text in pairs. Try to act.
Step4: Consolidation.
T provide a real situation for the Ss to use the key sentences. Take out salad again. T is a salesman now. “Salad, delicious salad!” Then ask someone to taste. Then guess ‘What is it?’ ‘Yum or Yuk’.
Step5: Homework
Let them read this text at home.
Ⅶ. Purposes of my designing
I think it is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss by singing and at the same time it provides situations to review learned knowledge for the next step. Then I present the key structures in a real scene is much easier for the Ss to learn and grasp the meanings. Proper competition can arouse the Ss’ interest in English learning. So I divided them into 6 groups to compete. Recorder is teachers’ good friend. It can provide a real situation for the Ss to develop the listening. I also use masks. It can help children to understand the text easier. Let Ss working in pairs can foster Ss’ consciousness of good co-operation and proper competition. Homework is also necessary. Because revision is so important that Ss should speak English as much as they can in class or after class. It is necessary for the Ss to do some extensive exercises after class to consolidate the knowledge they learned.
Blackboard design
What’s this? It’s a banana. Yum!
What’s that? It’s a lemon. Yuk!
Is it an apple? Yes, it is.
No, it isn’t.
Summary: I think this lesson develops Ss’ abilities of listening speaking, reading and working in groups. This lesson’s aims are clearly. Every step is very systematically. But not everyone drilled enough. Practice is a little boring. Anyway, the teaching of this lesson aims to develop not only the Ss" language technical abilities.
Thank you!
