译林牛津版高中英语必修二Unit 2 Wish you were here《Word Power》说课稿 Good afternoon, every teacher. I’m very glad to have the opportunity to present my teaching ideas to you here. My topic is from Advance with English Book 9, the word power of unit 2. To make my presentation much clearer, I’ll explain it in the following 5 aspects. I. My understanding of the teaching material. II. Teaching aims. III. Teaching methods and learning ways. IV. Teaching procedures. V. Blackboard design. Now, I’ll explain them one by one to you. Part 1. My understanding of the teaching material. Vocabulary study plays a vital role in English study. In this section, students will learn some words and expressions (1) that can be used to describe a country.(2) some English words that were deprived from Greek. (3) related to national flowers and colour idioms. (4) related to religions. By doing various exercises, they are expected to get familiar with the new knowledge and learn how to use them correctly. In the end, their vocabulary will be enlarged, which will help them lay a solid foundation for their English study. According to these , I set my teaching aims as follows: Part 2. Teaching aims 1. Enlarge Ss’ vocabulary by help them to learn some words and expressions about a country / some borrowed English words / national flowers /religions. 2. Make sure Ss understand the new words and expressions and know how to use them. 3. By doing different tasks, Ss will set up self-confidence in English study.. Among them, I think the teaching focus and difficulties will fall on these points: 1. How to help Ss to master the new words and expressions. 2. How to help Ss apply what they have learnt to practical use. Well, how to achieve the teaching aims better, to stress the focus and break through the difficult points? The key is to use proper teaching methods. Part 3. Teaching methods and learning ways. In my class, I’ll adopt the Situational method and Task- based method. The new curriculum emphasizes the idea that teaching should take students as the masters and the teacher as the director. So I’ll try to provide students with lively situations and create a relaxing class atmosphere and then they can gain the knowledge by self work and free drills. What’s more, I’ll take good advantage of the multi-media to make the class lively and have a larger capacity of knowledge. Part 4. Teaching procedures. Now, I’d like to talk about my teaching procedures. I want to carry them out in the following steps: Step 1. Lead-in. Conduct an activity: Show Ss some pictures on the slide of (1) the United Kingdom and ask students what they have known about this country. (2) show some borrowed words in English and ask Ss to pick out the words which English borrowed from Chinese.(3) different national flags and asked Ss to match them with their countries.(4) different religions and religious words and ask Ss to match them within a certain time limit. 高中英语说课稿http://www.akqp.com/yingyu/gaozhongyingyu/ By doing this, I hope to arouse students’ interest and prepare them for the following study. Step 2. Vocabulary learning Ask Ss to read Part A and answer some prepared questions on the slides with the information they have got from the material. The purpose of this step is to help Ss gain a general idea of the material. Step 3. Practice 1.Ask Ss to read Part B including the instructions individually and finish a chart on the slide. Check the answers first with the partners and then with the slide. 2.Get Ss to complete Part C referring to Part A and Part B, and check the answers with the class. The purpose of this step is to develop Ss’ ability to use the information they have gained to finish different tasks. Step 4. Vocabulary extension Ask Ss to focus on Part D and complete it individually. Encourage them to consult a dictionary when they have questions before asking. Ask some Ss to present their answers and give proper praise. This step is designed to deepen Ss’ understanding of the new words and expressions. Step 5, Homework Finish Part C in the workbook. Part 5. Blackboard design. In the upper side of the blackboard is the title of this lesson: Word Power. On the right side are some new words and expressions.
