1. Show the Ss the new words and ask them to highlight them in the book.
2. Read the words aloud and ask the Ss to follow.
3. Show the Ss the sentences containing the new words and ask the Ss to choose the suitable meaning from the right column on the blackboard.

1. Find out the new words in the book.
2. Read the new words following the teacher.
3.Read the sentences containing the new words and then find out the suitable meaning according to the whole sentences.

1. To let the Ss get correct pronunciation of the new words.

Stage 2
While-
reading

1. Show the pictures which imply the plot of the story to the Ss, and ask the Ss to put them in the right right order.
2. Ask the Ss to read the story, and then ask some Ss to read out in different roles.
3. Ask the Ss to describe the pictures which imply the development of the story.

1. Think about the story and put the pictures into right order.
2. To read the Chapter 3 aloud in different roles.
3. Describe the pictures with the understanding of the story, and try to describe the story using their own words.
