My favorite traditional Chinese holiday
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen!
My name’s ##. I’m from ## Primary School. Today I’m very glad to be here to share my ideas of “My favorite traditional Chinese holiday” with you.
Spring Festival is my favorite. It’s on January 1st according to the Chinese lunar calendar. It’s China’s New Year’s Day. The Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. So usually a mouth before the festival, people begin to buy food, clothes and decorations for houses.
About a week before the festival, we are busy preparing the New Year dinner. And we’ll do a lot of washing and cleaning in the houses. People who are far away on business are hurrying to return home for the New Year’s family reunion.
On New Year Eve, each family will get together to eat, talk and watch TV for almost the whole night. And there will be some interesting programs on TV. At about 12 o’clock, many people will set off the fireworks to celebrate the coming of a new year.
On the first day of Spring Festival, we’ll eat dumplings, wear the new clothes and meet our neighbors or friends. We greet each other for good luck, and give the red pocket money to children. The children are the happiest of all, because they can get lots of presents and red pockets. I think the Spring Festival is your favorite too, isn’t it?
Before finishing my speech, I would like to say: As a member of Chinese, I’m very proud of our motherland——China. She must be stronger and stronger in the future.
That’s all. Thank you for listening. Thank you very much.
