One I Will Never Forget
“Do it by yourself”! I have been told with this for a million times. I will never forget it. Of course, I will never forget my father who told me that.
Like most of the others, my father is uncomplicated and he grew up in a poor family. My grandma has three children. My father is the second one. Unfortunately my elder uncle died of a traffic accident, so all of the burden were loaded on my father’s young shoulders. He should give up the study and learn all the skills by himself. Because of such kind of experience, even now he lives a simple life and always teaches us that we should do everything by ourselves.
Once a time, I asked my father to teach me how to ride a bicycle. At first, he agreed to help me and gave me a lot of encouragement. But when I really began, he asked me to learn by myself. No matter how hard I tried to persuade him, he didn’t show any sight help me again. At that time, I was a pompous child I wanted to let him know without his help I could still do it well, so I learned by myself.
Because I fell down bicycle so many times that I made myself blue and black, but my father stood aside with no expression at all. I was so angry, “I hate you , I hate you,” I said in my mind. But I did not give in and went on again and again . One day, suddenly I found I didn’t fall off and could ride the bicycle quite skillfully. I was so excited and rushed to tell my father happily. Then my father smiled and said, “Good, do it yourself, I know you can!” I burst into tears. “Thank you, dad.” I said.
