【教材分析】
本节课为EEC教材小学课本第六册Lesson5的第三课时,本节课讲第一课时及第二课时作为基础,进一步巩固练习句子“Welcome to…”及感叹句“What a…”的运用,并对熟悉和喜爱的国家地点进行简单地描述,初步了解几个典型国家的人文地貌。
【学情分析】
本课的教学对象是小学五年级的学生,他们已经具有了一定的英语基础。这个年龄段的学生特点是对于新鲜、陌生的事物充满了求知的欲望,乐于用英语表达所见、所闻、所学并积极地参与到学习活动中来。本课设计了体验性教学活动,使学生能够自主、快乐地完成既定的学习任务,逐步巩固已有的教学内容,丰富学生的生活经历,培养他们英语语言思维能力,拓展第二语言国家的人文知识。
【教学目标】
通过学习,了解一些国家及其城市、名胜古迹或代表动物。学会使用表达不同感受的形容词及其感叹句 What a…! 中的运用。
教学的重点、难点:学习感叹句What a…!在情境中情感的真实流露和表达。准确把握beautiful/wonderful/fantastic在语用时意义上的差别。让学生充分运用已有的知识进行语言运用。
【教学思路】
在设计时,采用以旧带新和以激发学生运用已学知识的方法。词汇的呈现和运用不是机械的,而是运用中记忆。利用多媒体手段调动学生的学习积极性,扩展西方地理文化知识,培养学生热爱祖国,热爱世界之情。并以联系学生生活实际为本,发挥小组合作的优势,培养学生良好的学习和交际策略。
【教学过程】
一、复习热身,拉近师生距离
T: Hello, boys and girls. Welcome to Mary’s class. There are so many teachers here today. Let’s welcome them.
Ss: Welcome to Mudanjiang.
播放牡丹江镜泊湖风景图,请学生介绍当地的名胜。
T: I’m from Harbin. So I’m new here. Could you please introduce some places to go in Mudanjiang?
S1: You can go to Dafuyuan supermarket.
S2: You can go to the Jingpo Lake.
S3: You can see the waterfall.
T: Oh ,thank you very much.Before I come here,I found some pictures of Mudanjiang
T: Wow, what a beautiful place! What a wonderful place!
(从学生最熟悉的事物入手,逐步引导学生学习异域文化知识,层层深入,引发学生对家乡的热爱。通过学生的介绍后再观看当地的名胜,与学生产生共鸣,激发了学生的学习热情,同时,自然而然的发出感叹引出要复习的内容。)
二、教师示范中理解新知,运用中习得新知
1.Teaching the new words: country /Egypt/ pyramids/ city/Paris/tower
T: Mudanjiang is a city .The landmark is Jingpo lake. Can you tell me some other cities?
S1: Harbin is a city.
S2: Shenzhen is a city.
S3: Shanghai is a city.
S4: Beijing is a city.
T: Yes, do you know the landmark in Beijing?
S1: Tian’anmen .
S2: The Great Wall.
T: Well done! Yes, they’re the cities in China. China is a country. And The famous animal is…
Ss: Panda.
T: Very good. Can you tell me some other countries?
S1: Australia is a country.

2. 在学生了解语义、语用之后,用问题引导学生学习Let’s Practice的内容。

课文学习及听力练习。

三、创设情景,游览澳洲。巩固所学句型,表达真情实感。

2.Be the guides of some places. Introduce the great places there.
T: Australia is a beautiful country .But our country is more beautiful. There are many places to go. Let’s make some small groups and introduce some cities. One or two are the guides there.

T: For example, I went to Hangzhou last year.This is west lake. Look,the lake is very clear and the water is blue. It’s very beautiful . You can go boating on the lake. Also you can eat the delicious fish.

小组活动,扮演某地方的导游,介绍当地的名胜或动物。巩固Welcome to … 。It’s a beautiful city .在学生汇报中,他们充分利用集体的力量和平时的语言积累加以表达,根据自己的经历和语言基础来完成任务。
(为学生创设广阔的语言运用的空间, 培养他们语言组织能力、小组合作学习等综合语言运用能力。即面向全体,又考虑学生的差异性。)
四、运用所学,布置写作内容,延伸课堂教学
1.Write travel notes.
多媒体出示教师澳洲游记。让学生写一写自己游览过的景点。他们可以根据自己已有的知识水平和经历完成书写任务。
T: Today we went many places. Let’s love China ,love the world ,Ok?

T: Today’s homework. Write travel notes about the places you went .Introduce what you saw there.

【自评】
本节课的设计主要侧重在如何扩展西方文化知识,了解国家及名胜、动物。在本节课中,信息输入量大、内容丰富,有效地扩展了人文地貌。词汇的呈现和运用有创新之处,不是简单的机械训练,而是运用中记忆。如,China is a country. Do you know other countries? 调动学生运用己有知识,引导学生说Australia(…) is a country. 复习国家词的同时,学习运用了一个新词country.突破新知识。再过渡到观看埃及的影片,孩子们边观看边为眼前神奇的国家发出感叹!复习感叹句,而后教授Egypt和pyramids 。
通过一段澳洲的录象素材,带领学生们参观游览澳洲,使他们感受的国家的美丽、人们的快乐、动物的可爱。既让学生了解异域风情,又让学生运用语言发出由衷的感叹,课堂气氛达到高潮。而后,回到我们对祖国的热爱,出示我国风光图片让学生们做某地的导游。激发学生热爱祖国之情,为学生提供一个运用语言的真实空间。
【点评】
本节课主线清晰自然流畅。积极倡导新课标的理念,以扩展异域地理文化知识为主线,层层深入,由易到难。从孩子们已有知识出发,从孩子们最熟知的家乡的名胜入手开始了一堂别开生面的英语教学课。本课处处体现以学生为主体,教师为主导的思想,每次复习或新知的呈现都先启发学生说,充分调动学生的已有知识和课外知识。
另外,恰到好处的运用多媒体的辅助作用。为学生呈现了一幅幅视觉美,音乐美的画面,带领学生游览欣赏异域的风景。从而由衷地引发感叹,突破本课的重点和难点,这个活动不仅是为学生创造再次的语言输入的机会,而且输入的信息量大,为后面的知识反馈和运用作铺垫。
同时,教师在设计课的时候既考虑面向全体又充分考虑学生的差异性,采用小导游介绍等多种方式调动学生学习的积极性和参与性。最后,教师还能注重渗透情感教育,让学生热爱家乡,热爱祖国,热爱世界,同时热爱美好的生活。
