Teaching goals:
Learn Part B of Unit 5: the sentence pattern: which one do you want……? practise the sentence, the new words and phrases: raincoat,cheap T-shirt, thin book, thick book.
The important points:
Practice using the sentence pattern: Which one do you want……?
Using the adj words correctly in the pattern.
Difficult points:
Try to collect the adj words in the pattern.
Preparation:
tape recorder, cards computer and TV.
Teaching steps:
Step 1:Greetings
T: Good morning, class!
What day is today?
Nice to see you again!
How’s it going?
Step 2: Revision
Look and say. Compare the adj words. Long-short,thick-thin,old-young, cheap-expensive.
Play a game. Listen and act.
Step 3: Presentation
T asks one student to choose the book in the front.
S: Can I have a story book, Miss Zhou ?
T: Yes, you can.
T: Which book do you want ,the thick one and the thin one?.
Ss will ask for a long ruler/a short ruler/ green chalk/ red chalk/ yellow chalk…… with the sentence pattern: Which one do you want…… ?
Step 4: Drill
Make the sentences.
Pair works using the objectives.
Step 5: Learn Part B
Listen to Part B.
Learn the new word: cheap ,expensive, raincoat.
Let’s read together.
Step 6: Activity
Find two similar things. Then ask your friend to make a choice.

Go over Part A, B, learn Part C, D and E of Unit 3: Practice the sentence pattern: Which one do you want,…or…?Read the dialogue in Part D, write the answers into the blanks.

Practice using the sentence pattern: Which one do you want,…or…? Read and understand the dialogue in Part D and try to finish the exercises in Part D and E.

Try to understand the dialogue in Part D.
