2 Learn how to compare people.
The important and difficult points:Learn to use comparatives with “–er /-ier” or “ more”.
Teaching Method: Communicative Approach
Teaching aids: CAI, cards
Teaching procedure:
Step 1. Warming-up
1. Enjoy “Hello Song”.
2. Greetings.
3. Review some adjectives:
Look at the pictures. Say the adjectives together.
4. Magic eyes:
Say the words as quickly as you can.
5. The adjectives andtheir opposites.
Step 2. leading-in
1. Ask some students to stand up. Compare them.
A is taller than B. B is taller than C. C is taller than D. E is taller than ….
2. Show some pictures of different people to present adjectives.

3. Present all the adjectives and their comparatives.
Step 3  Listening
Task 1 ( 1 ) Look at the picture. There are 3 pairs of twins .
Listen to 1b twice and number the pairs of twins (1–3) in the picture.
      ( 2 ) Check the answers.
Task 2 ( 1 ) A reporter is interviewing Tina and Tara.
          Listen to 2b twice.How are Tina and Tara different? Fill in the charts.
      ( 2 ) Check the answers.    
 ( 3 ) ( Look at the listening materials.) Listen again. Then read together.
Step 4 Groupwork
1. Students work in a group of three. One is the reporter, the others  are the twins. Practice the conversation.
2. Act it out.
Step 5 Interview
1. Interview the people around you ( like your classmates, friends, teachers. )
(1) Do you have a brother/sister/friend?
(2) Do you think you are different from your brother/sister/friend? (3)Who is taller/heavier/funnier/more outgoing/more athletic?
2. Give us a report.
