Teaching contents: Vocabulary and Listening
Teaching Aims: 1.To understand time expression and identify school subjects
2. To understand conversations about “a school day”
3. To process information of time and school subjects in the listening
4. To talk about one’s lessons with given information.
Teaching key points:
Key vocabulary: o’clock, talk, half, past, art, chemistry, history, about, what about…, start
Key structure: It is six o’clock. It is half past six.

Teaching Aids: Multi-Media, Tape recorder, ppt

Learning strategies: Bottom –up approach and listening to the tape and do some exercises.

Teaching Procedures:
Warming—up:
1. Greetings.
2. To introduce the title of module 7 and unit1
Step1 lead—in
1. share a song
2. Ask students the main idea of this song, then elicit the topic of this unit
Step2 Pre—task
1 Show a clock and some pictures to students
2 Ask student to guess the time
3 To answer the question “what time is it?” It is six o’clock”
It is eight o’clock
It is twelve o’clock
4 To answer the question “what time is it? It is half past eight.
It is half past two.
5 Let ss read them after the teacher
6 Let ss read the time in activity1
7 Work in pairs, talk about the time
8 Match the sentences with pictures in activity 2
9 Summary two types expression of time: 整点 点数+o’clock
半点 half past+钟点
Step2 While-task
1 Learn some words of subject
2 Let ss read the subjects together
3 Do the match in activity 3 individually
4 Check the answers in a whole class

Step3 listening and reading
1 Listen to the tape and check the sentences, true or false
2 listen it again and correct the false sentences
3 Read the conversation follow the tape
4 Then ss read the conversation together

Step4 Timetable learning
1 look at the timetable of Class 12, Grade 1,and find out how many lessons on Tuesday? –Yes, we have seven lessons on Tuesday.
2 Teacher give examples: We have maths at 7:30. We have Chinese at 8:00.
3 Ask ss to make sentences like the teacher

Step5 Post—task
1 Talk about school life by using “I have/don’t have ….” “We have/don’t have”
2 Work in pairs, talk about your lessons, use four questions.
