Unit 1 My name’s Gina教学设计
教学目标:
1、 询问或介绍他人,初步掌握first name 与last name 的位置关系,了解几个常见的英语姓。
2、 初步掌握my, your, his, her的人称指示关系。
3、 掌握数字1-9,并能在实际生活中运用。
教学重点:
1、 介绍他人时,句与句之间人称的一致性。
2、 数字的快速反应及运用。
教学难点:
英语中常见姓与名的区别。
教学过程:
Period 1 (1a—2c)
Step 1 Greeting and presentation
1. Greet the whole class with “hi” and “How are you?”
2. Go to individual students, help them to give a correct response.
T: Good morning! My name’s Anna./I’m Anna. What’s your name?
S: (My name’s) Mary.
T: Nice to meet you.
S: Nice to meet you.
Present the following on the blackboard:
(1). What’s your name? = What is your name?
(2). My name’s Anna. = My name is Anna.
= I’m Anna. = I am Anna.
(3). Nice to meet you.
3. Do 1b. and read the conversations.
Step 2 Pairwork
Practice conversations to greet each other.
Step 3 Listen and practice
1. Do 2a,2b
2. Listen to the first conversation, repeat and act it out.
Then the other three conversations. Present the following:
(1). What’s his/her name? His/Her name is ……
(2). Are you Mark? Yes, I am. / No, I’m not. I’m ……
3. Ask the students to close their books. Give the following situations, get them to practice conversations:
(1).You are new in the class. You are looking for Bob/Mike/Dale/Alice.
Eg. A: Excuse me. Are you Bob?
B: No, I’m not. I’m Eric.
A: Sorry! Are you Bob?
C: Yes, I am.
A: Good! I’m Bill. Nice to meet you.
C: nice to meet you.
(2).You are new in the class. Now you are asking your partner the names of the students around you.
Eg. A: What’s his/her name?
B: His/Her name is…….
(3).You are our new English teacher. You are beginning the first class.
Eg: Good morning, boys and girls. My name’s …… What’s your name?
Step 4 Homework

Period 2 3a—4
Step 1 Greeting and revision
1. T: Good morning, boys and girls! We’ve been together for two weeks, but I still can’t remember your names. Now can you tell me your name?
Ask one student the following questions:
What’s your name? / Are you ……?
Then ask the others: What’s his/her name?
2. A game: Choose a team to introduce their names one by one quickly, using “ My name’s…./I’m…..”, then ask one student to tell all their names, or tell as many names as possible.
Step 2 Presentation
T: So I know you all have two names, a Chinese name and an English name. Can you write them in English?
Get one or two students to write their Chinese and English names on the blackboard. Point to the Chinese names, introduce the first names and the last names. Then about the English names, tell about the family names and the given names.
Step 3 Practice
T: Now we are going to study at Harvard University. We must have a full English. These are your hosts’ family names, you can choose one to name after.
Get students to write down their full names on a piece of paper, then on their English books.
T: Now we are in the classroom at Harvard University. I’m your teacher, so I’m asking you about your names.
T: What’s your first name?
S:…..
T: What’s your last name?
S……
T: There are so many students to ask. I’m tired. Who can help me ask?
Ask one student to ask the questions instead of me, while I write down the names on a piece of paper.
T: Oh, so many names. But I don’t know which are boys’ names and which are girls’ names. Can you tell me?
Get students to write down the names in the columns:

Step 4 A report
Get students to report their names to the class, they should say as much as possible. Try not to write if possible.

Step 1 Revision
Introduce students’ own English names.
Eg: My first name is Alan, and my last name is Smith, so my English name is Alan Smith.
Step 2 Presentation and learning
T: My first name is Anna, and my last name is Smith, my English name is Anna Smith, and my telephone number is 87019910. What’s your telephone number?
Say the numbers in English. Can you number 0 to 9? Do 1a., present the numbers on the blackboard, and get students to learn by heart.

Step 1 Revision
1. Get one student to say, “My first name is ……, and my last name is ……”, then the whole class say, “his/her first name is ……, and his/her last name is ……”
2. Pair work: Point to the classmates around , ask and answer: What’s his/her first/last name?

Step 2 Practice

2. Design their own school cards.
